Anžej-interview!
Check this!
(And choose la 13.5.06)
It’s a Perfect Day
Quite a lot has to happen to beat this day. I mean, sooo much happened one by one, and most of it all by accident or by being in a right place at the right time.
Day started with meeting Anžej. Then his rehersals were flawless. Some people thought his voice didn’t sound good, but I loudly disagree. Backing vocalists could be tad… “less loud†heh, but I didn’t mind. He moves great and has nice gimmicks in his act. He’s my number one.
His press conference was also success. He sang bit of Helena’s last year winning song and got great applauds. I waved and waved to get to ask a question, but I never got a chance, coz these second press conferences are shorter than the first ones. Sucky. (So none of you will never ever know what brilliant question I would’ve asked…) Anyways, I got the whole thing taped and also managed to get great photos of the little devil and his angels.
After that I ran into him once again and got autographed cd, pictures together, him singing Plan B on tape etc. So really a perfect start for the day.
Then Petori arrived. I had to twist his arm so that he’d leave with me to interview Carola. He hesitated sooo much coz he thought he’d pee in his pants before meeting his lifetime idol. (and so he almost did, bless him.)
Once again the pr/help-desk knew nothing. Getting a taxi (to La Carola’s own tranquil villa) turned out to be a real hell. After sweating and cursing we finally got one and weren’t even much late for The Occasion. I won’t go to the detail, coz I’ll let Petori to write all about it here.
All I say is that afterwards we went to a posh nearby seaside restaurant to have gin tonic’s and I had a strawberry milkshake. Petori said aloud what I had been thinking all week: greek men are gorgeous – I loose my heart almost every single day. Then again, they’re gorgeous in their 20’s but when they hit 50, they all turn up looking the same: overweight pizzeria-owners with thick moustache above their upper lip.
Oh-oh-oh! And right before Anžej’s rehersals I was interviewed to Greek’s radio. Which channel? No clue. And this wasn’t my first one while being here, coz yesterday I was interviewed by Icelandic radio. And guess the other one was Spanish. I just remembered that coz on our way to Carola yet another icelandian tried to interview me, but I had to decline coz we were in a hurry. Maybe the manufacturer should change the name of this hair dye into Venus Flytrap!
After Carola we drove back to Oaka – Petori still shaking. He met Olga and they left to their hotel and I went to unload all the day’s photos. I had planned to take the 21:00 shuttle bus to Omonia Square and drop off my stuff to hotel and to pick newly arrived Antti and Markku with me to the EuroCafe where Evridiki was to appear on stage at 21.30. Just, JUST then I ran into Russian’s Dima Bilan.
Of course I couldn’t pass the chance to interview Dima, coz his manager gave me the coolest invitation-card ever (two-sided printed mirror!) to their evening party on friday. I picked my camera and Petri K. offered to be my cameraman. Dima was as adorable as he had been so far, sooo cute an what a penetrating gaze.
After doing Dima I had missed my bus and needed to download even more new photos, so I called the guys and told them to get there by themselves. I’d meet them there later.
In the middle of working I ran to pee and got engaged talking with these three nice pr-ladies, and before I knew half an hour had flown by, and I had missed yet another bus. After getting an SMS from Antti that Evridiki had come and left already I decided to skip it all and continue uploading pics to my site. (Afterwards I heard I didn’t even miss all that much, coz Evridiki hadn’t sung anything, they just interviewed her. Like Zeljko yesterday.)
I took the 23.30 bus to downtown and jumped off at the Omonia Square. Went to Everest to get a ham-panini and bolony-Philadelphia cheese sandwich. I popped in at Antti’s and Markku’s room (407 – opposite from me 403) for a quick night-chat – and bragging with my Carola-stuff, heh. Got into my room, showered, ate, wrote this and fell asleep as a happiest man ever.

Into Silvia Night’s Dressing Room…
Yiihaa! I got invited to Silvia Night’s dressing room tomorrow. I called her manager, who was still sound asleep around noon and to get rid of me fast, heh, he said we’ll skip today’s interview and I shall meet her tomorrow after Iceland’s press conference. What an honour. I wonder do I dare to look her into eyes…
