I lost it at Ikea
I need to be spanked. I spend a lot of money today.
I’ve only been to Ikea once before, and then I only bought computer-desk and -chair. But this second I time I went crazy. I got A FULL dining set for 12, I mean all the glasses, wine-ones, cuttlery, three kinds of plates, just everything. Also tons of new kitchen-stuff, new wok-pan, a lamp, a vase, a carpet, aso. Thank god Paula was with me and she went crazy too. She bought a new book-shelves, kitchen table for 10 people, tv-table, new chairs… Jussi who was driving us there was just amazed.
Another cool thing today was my visit to MTV Finland’s headquarters. The new channel will start in two weeks, so me and our editor visited the channel’s boss Erja at the office for a lunch date. Erja is my good friend and former colleague at Katso! so it wasn’t any uptight meeting. Instead we went to eat at New Bamboo Center – my fave chinese restaurants (as well as Erja’s) in the city. We arrived to meet Erja an hour early – don’t ask why – so we waited while she had one talent-search-interview-meeting-whatever. And that was with some gorgeous guy named Aarni, who presented Erja with some artworks he’d done. I was sooo pissed I didn’t have my new business cards ready, taht I could’ve traded with him. Then again, he looked like a skater-dude in a suite for the very first time ever, so I doubt that he’d even had ones. But meeting him surely wa sthe highpoint of the day. Or the faact that our new editor-in-chief asked us “Don’t you people have homes?” around 8.pm. when we we’re still working at the office. Heh, hard-working reputation achieved already!
Matkalaulu
(The title as well as the following verses refer to PMMP’s song “Travelling Song” which I’ve been playing on the loop all week.)
“Tämä voi olla koko elämämme ihanin päivä, ajetaan hiljempaa, toivon että matka jatkuu jatkuu vaan…”
These past five days have yet again been one crazy crazy shit, I tell ya. I don’t mind, I actually love it to bits and pieces, it’s just that I’m so afraid all this must come to an end some day. Then again, I’ve been afraid of that for years now, and it doesn’t seem to, so guess my life is meant to be this lovely and full of weird (and nice) happenings!
Well on Saturday morning Pepe left to Länkipohja to see his folks, and Cousteau showed up (don’t ask me what time, I was still asleep!) full of exxxtra energy, took our carpets and left to nearby bay to wash them. Yes! To wash our carpets. That’s his annual ritual. After he came back few hours later – and woke me up again – we started to clean teh rest of the house. Man… the clean smell that our flat provided after that! Niko came over to return some dvd’s and help Cousteau to shift the soaking wet and heavy carpets at the back of my bike (Niko’s bike was stolen early in the summer, so I lended him mine). After C’s husband got home from work he left to satisfy him, and I had a nice and relaxing eve, which included 90-minute sauna-session, all for myself.
On Sunday I kept on cleaning the flat. Klaus and Antero visited, and they had splendid news: Klaus has bought a penthouse flat from Vanhankaupunginlahti, quite near, a very nice new neghbourhood, and they’d be signing the papers + getting the keys next Friday. And what makes this even better is that the flat has so many windows that they cannot take Klaus’ kingsize-Garfield there, so I’m getting that humangous animal!
After the guys left Sami, Sampsa and Paula came over for a visit and we watched the spanish Oscar-winning film Sea Inside which was extremely beautiful and cheerful in all it’s melancholiness.
On Monday came the biggest of suprises: our editor-in-chief got fired. And replaced by our previous boss. I’ve had to explain our situation all through the week to numrous people, so I don’t have the energy to do that in here anymore. Just anyone I’ve spoken to during this week, and you’ll find out.
Also on Monday Paula cooked a pre-birthday dinner and had invited Sampo and Edvard to eat turkish tapas at our place. Yummy! That female sure knows a way to man’s heart. I guess pepe smelled the food too, coz he returned from the countryside while we still were dining.
Came Tuesday and I almost killed an elderly citizen. Well, actually Niko almost killed, coz he sent me the sms which caused a minor heart-attack to the old man sitting in front me in the bus. I was just sms’ing people and holding my phone in my hand when Niko’s message came. And suddenly it started to nay (Yes, my phone nays when it receives a text-message.) and ther was a 100yo granpa with his ear-maching sitting no mor ethan 5cms away from the phone I was holding. yes, the naying turned heads, but so did the gasping granpa. Luckily I was just leaving, so I didn’t have to bear those murderous looks people gave me.
Pasi came over for a brief visit later in the eve, and pepe packed his bags coz he left to Estonia for work-trip early this morning. And suprise suprsie: he did find his passport!
Today is Wednesday and I can honestly say that may it be the sunshine or what, but this week has definitely been awesome so far. I’ve been the happiest ever and full of energy. It could be cause dby the fact that I did order tons of new dvd’s from UK on Sunday… *blush* I know I ought to save, but I couldn’t help myself. And that caused me 580€’s… But it will make me exxtra happy when they arrive.
At the time I’m writing this there’s a muscular half-naked hunk lying no more than 1,5 metres away from me… (NOT Pepe!). And tomorrow I’m finally gonna make one of my longtime dreams come true…..
Smell of Beckham
Sniff me!
Close your eyes and sniff me! And I guarantee you can imagine sniffing David Beckham. Well… not quite, but close. I just got his brand new perfum Instinct for testing yesterday, and been wearing that fargnance ever since. And people have really been asking what’s that I’m wearing. Or maybe it’s been the amount I’ve poured on me – who can say – at least the result has been guaranteed.
Yesterday was altogether quite a perfect day. Well how could a day not be when the first thing one sees is a cute guy. Naked. Taking a shower. Thank god for Big Brothel Channel and Antti A. feeling dirty the exact time I felt like waking up.
The day continued being great. I attended MTV3 Finland’s fall previews and avoided narrowly (but enough) getting onto the stage to join the tv gameshow they had organized. I was really afraid that they pick me from the audience, coz the opening act included ridiculing us reporters by “revealing our secrets” in a Conan O’Brian-style (which the hosts had digged of us). They called out a reporter’s name, pointed the cameras rto him/her and revealed something funny. And guess who was included…. Yep. Yours Truly.
I hung out with Julius and Jutta from the Secret Lives and bid farewell to pr-lady Saara who’s moving to UK in two weeks to attend a desinging school over there. And then headed back to work.
By the time I got back, I had gotten an email from USA saying I’d be getting an interview from Kyle Lowder (a hunk from daily soap Days of Our Lives) later today. So I started to update my questions for him. I finished my other articles, by the time clock hit 19:00. The call came 20 mins late, and lasted half an hour and boy was he nice! He invited me to come over to meet him in person next time I travel to L.A., which might be next spring.
Cousteau came over for visit later when I got home, coz he was bored at home and his bf was at work. So we laid down on the couch and played PMMP, who’s latest album he hadn’t heard yet. And noe he loves it almost as much as I do. Heh. It’s simply the best finnish album this year. By far.
Cousteau left. Pepe arrived sometime that night, 2-ish or something, didn’t really notice, coz I didn’t see him until today 6-ish when I came home from work. (Yep, he went straight to his room to chat with Zozo, which he’s been doing all eve today too.) (Boy they’re so in love!)
Today was quite easy day at the office. Sorted through my photoarchives and finished few simple articles. Came home and enjoyed dinner at the terrace, coz it was sooo sunny day. Rolled the carpets ready, coz Cousteaus is going to come and take them to the beach and wash them tomorrow morning! Boy that guy’s full of energy….
Had a nice chat with my friend Doni and was shocked coz he didn’t know that one of or fave artists, Kate Bush, is releasing a new abum, Aerial, in November after 15 years of waiting. I also tried my best to make Ajay into Lab-fan, but the results remain to be seen.
I sniffed myself and went to bed.
