Wanted: A Roomie
Okay, it’s final: Pepe is moving out in the middle of January.
He’ll be moving in with Ziad to live in Sweden, so I’m happy (well not that happy, 97% of the times I was more than happy to have Pepe here) to announce that there’s vacancy at The Temple Of Gaylem!
I don’t necessarily need to find a roomie, but surely it’d be fun to have someone here to share evenings with. But if you have good suggestions, don’t hesitate to speak out now, coz now it’s the chance of a lifetime!
I mean where else would you get a 80-square apartment with its very own sauna and terrace, free cable/internet and more films/tv-series you could ever imagine, plus the most redheaded roomie in the city for just 450€ a month + electricity ?
But if I won’t get any applications intriguing enough, I will turn that room into my office – I still have that red mahogany Big Boss’ desk at the basement, the one I got from the WTC’s financing company two summers ago. The damn desk is huge enough even to sleep on!
Or maybe I’ll turn that room into a greenhouse! Damn these stormy winds – our terrace is now worse that it’s even been: those tornados we’ve been suffering past two days ripped over half of the flowers out the their pots, and I simply don’t know what to do, coz my personal horticulturist has abandoned me to become a husband for the next door sl…lady, who often comes here to cook (and steal friends).
Oh well, not a good day for me at all.
The only bright thing was that there’s few cute guys in the first ever Big Brother Finland which started to air today.
Big Rain-Brother
Yet another, should I say interesting week behind. All through the week I was afraid becoming ill any minute, but so far I’ve managed to avoid that. But prolly after today’s rainy fiasco I will get the flu (which has bed-stricked half of my friends already).
So, Monday was great day. I went to Secret Live’s fall-press, where I met lots of old friends and had nice chats with them. I especially enjoyed seeing Tuomas after such a long time. Since we’ve last he’d broken up with his girlfriend, sold their flat and bought a new one quite close to me. Also Sanna and Sami were there and we caught up with the latest.
On Tuesday I attended TV4Finland’s fall-press first thing in the morning. They had exquisite food, and they always give out the best presents for journaalists, and they surely didn’t let us down this time either. Among other things I got Desperate Housewives -dvd, stylish Robinson-flashlight and a MovieFreak-game (which I passed on to Jani as a replacement birthdaypresent, since he didn’t like the wooden kittens I gave him at the RhumFest). Also at the TV4-info I met with Juha Heinisuo, whom I haven’t seen in ages. We promised to see each other again soon and catch up properly.
On Wednesday I was supposed to attend Canal Digital’s meeting, but it was postponed to nex week due to illness, thank god. But I also got an email from London asking whether I’d be interested in doing interview of Kyle Lowder. Of course I am! I have n-e-v-e-r passed a chance to do that, and never will. The only sucky thing is that the interview is supposed to take place some evening later this week… yeah, right.
Well I waited all wednesday and good part of the Thursday as well for the call, which never came. Instead I got email saying that guess it has to be postponed to next week, coz they hadn’t heard from L.A.-people anyhting. Oh well, I was happy to hear that, coz this week was sooo busy at the office.
On Friday two of our top fotographers resigned, and told they’d start working for the biggest competitor magazine already next week. Well, one of them was my friend, but the other fotographer I never liked, so I kinda had mixed feelings about the the leave. It also made me question a bit our magazine’s future, but I’ve learned one thing in the past, and that’s not worry too much about future. What’s meant to be, will be. And if you don’t like it, then deal with it then, and don’t waste your time worrying about it before.
Also this all week was a drag coz our AD had had a little mental breakdown and gotten sickdays for the whole week, so we had to manage by ourselves, which meant little extra work for everyone. Maybe it was this extra work-load, but even affected my dreams, heh, coz during the week I even had a bit of nightmare about winning a celebrity orienteering competition, hah!
What else…? Oh yes, this week’s been a bit of weird in many other ways too. Many friends have been quarrelling with each others for various small and petty things. Let’s see what this next week has stored for us. *knock*knock*
On the good side of things, Jani came over on Thursday and we played that movie-game in the terrace and enjoyed it a great deal. We also watched two more Love&Anarchy -films of which I wrote reviews. The first was spectacular Palindromes by Todd Solondz, whos one of my fave directors. Without revealing too much about it, you just have to see it, coz it’s soooo weird. AND you better watch Solondz’s earlier film Welcome to the Dollhouse before that, coz even though it’s a film of it’s own, it’s also kinda sequel to that. It was sooo funny and strange that we laughed all through it.
So no wonder why the latter film, korean horror flick Spider Forrest was a bit of disappointment. It had a good and confusing storyline, but it was too slow from the beginning, and lost the main plot time to time. But towards the end it got much better, and left the both of us, hardcore film freaks, arguing what the hell happened in the end. Heh.
On Saturday… hmmm… nothing major happened. Spent all day sorting through my photos and deciding which ones to add to my galleries. Washed clothes and had sauna.
And slept long today. Then dressed up and headed for for Big Brother Finland’s KickOff-party. The weaather was dreadful, the rain was pouring down the sky and after getting into VIP-area, I was soaking wet, as were the others too, that I wasn’t in teh party mood at all. And after hearing teh crappy names that were gonna perfom (The only good being Irina) I decided to drink up the free booze, eat the salad, say hi to friends and leave.
As major disappointment as the party was, there still were two nice suprises. First of all Marco Bjurström was the conductor of the show and came to chat with me after his first speech on stage. My colleagues, who had just been talking shit about Marco, were kinda schoked to see him (at that time I was standing no more than six feet away at the next table) coem to me, give me a big hug and start talking cozily. Heh. They must’ve been furious inside. Oh well, I know I’ll be even more of an outsider at our office after that, but I don’t mind.
And the other great suprise was to see Tupe! My former computer-guy was there as a servant. It’s been like yera or even two since I last saw him. He was then going to army, and is now doen with it, and living at his brother’s flat in Ruskeasuo. We’ll definately meet soon again. And I’ll be sure to post pics of him to my galleries asap.
Annyways, it’s now Sunday eve and I’m dead tired. Thank god I don’t have anything planned for tomorrow eve. Yet. Guess I’ll just stay home and watch that BB-Finland-opening from tv, coz it’ll be aired tomorrow, when the show officially starts. In case you’re gonna watch it and try to spot me, well I was wearing all black and was prolly the only one who didn’t wear the free plastic rain-jacket they passed to everyone at the gates.
P.S. Omar-fans: There’s new hot pics of Omar at his site, be sure to check them!
Pillar Box Red
Whatta nice week.
On Monday pepe treated me with flap-jacks. He had pissed me over last night with something, so he wanted to make it up for me. How sweet….
On Tuesday Henri, Markku and Juha were over for sauna and our bi-monthly eve of playing cards. Don’t laugh but the name of the game was – as usual – screaming bag.
Also on Tuesday Ziad arrived for a suprise visit.
On Wednesday Jani and I had a movie-night. It got two Love & Anarchy -filmfestival-dvd’s for review, so we watcheed both. Reinas (aka Queens) was fantastic spanish comedy about Spain’s first gay marriages, which were turned in to ahuge group-wedding and the story was focusing on the hysterical mothers of the brides, heh. The other film was one of the worst 25min-wastings of my life. Even with Neve Campbell’s daring first nude scenes and a lesbia sub-plot. The film When Will I be Loved should be avoided by any cost. Do check my full articles about them at our magazine’s site.
On Thursday nothing all that interesting happened. At least I don’t remember.
On Friday Pepe and Ziad left to Sweden so I had flat all for myself. Sami came over to dye my hair. And the colour of the week is now… PILLAR BOX RED!. Sampsa joined later to cook dinner/supper, and boy were we full afterwards.
On Saturdaý Harri, Niko and Paula threw a crabfest, but I didn’t feel like going, so I stayed home instead. It was a picture-perfect sunny day, so I switched off my mobile, stripped down in the terrace and poured sunscream all over me, put the headphones on, some good music and laid down. Whatta life! Two hours flew by, and so I heated up sauna, and relaxed there more. Went to bed before midnight!
And on today… been just adding more and more pics to my galleries. Gonna hit 3000+ by tomorrow! Later Sami and Sampsa came over again, as well did Paula, and so we made another splendid dinner. After dinner we all sat down and watched the pilot of the fantastic comedy called Dead Like Me. I highly recommend.
Paula left, but Jani entered and dyed and plucked my eyebrows and Sami’s lashes. Yeah… shame to admit, but I don’t naturally bear this much resemblence to Miss Elizabeth Taylor – especially in the eyebrow-department.
After Sami left Jani and I watched yet another film. A crappy werewolf-stockbroker-horror-flick called Wolves of Wall Street. Lotsa gorgeous men, but sooo un-professionally made and the ending must be the most stupid one I’ve seen in this decade.
And that’s about it… I downloaded some tremendously good middle-eastern music from Kazaa, so thsi week didn’t end all crappily, heh.
